Aegis

For museums & cultural institutions

The membership card they already carry.

Aegis turns your Altru export into branded digital cards — on the phone, at the door, updated the moment someone renews. Built first for the National Hellenic Museum.

The workspace is open to click through. Sign in only if you want a private copy that persists on your account.

Why this exists

Plastic cards are a 1998 solution to a 2026 problem.

Postage and plastic keep rising

Printing, stuffing, and mailing a card for 500 members is a staff week you do not have — every renewal cycle.

Members already live on their phone

They expect the card to be there at the door, to update itself, and to remind them before it lapses.

The vendor quote is the wrong size

Legacy digital-membership suites price like enterprise software. A focused card product should not.

How it works

Three steps. No new hardware.

01

Export from Altru

Download a membership query as CSV — or email the file to your museum’s private ingest address. We already speak Altru’s column names.

02

We send the cards

New members get an invite. Renewals update the card they already have. Expiration dates change without reprinting anything.

03

They tap in at the door

A barcode on a phone is enough. Door staff can look up a name or scan a code. Geo and SMS come later — the card is the product.

Two integration paths

Start with a file. Graduate to a live feed.

Blackbaud’s marketplace partnership is a long legal and security process — worth doing, not worth waiting on. CSV gets NHM live this season.

Path A — now

CSV, including email-to-inbox

Membership staff export from Altru (Name, Level, Expiration, Member since) and drop the file in the console — or email it to import@cards.xstudioworks.com. New people get a card. Renewed dates overwrite the old ones.

Path B — later

Altru SKY API, then marketplace

A scheduled pull against Blackbaud’s SKY API is the honest middle step. Joining the marketplace is a partner program, not an engineering weekend. We should not block launch on it.

National Hellenic Museum

First tenant: National Hellenic Museum

Five hundred members. A building on Halsted. A collection that deserves better than a mailed rectangle. This preview is seeded with the Altru columns you sent — Jane Smith, John Doe — plus a working Greektown membership roll so the console feels inhabited.

  • Digital cards branded with the meander and the museum blue.
  • Altru CSV ingest that creates, renews, and emails in one pass.
  • A launch message for rollout — the one add-on that actually moves renewal rates.
  • Door scanner for admissions. Location alerts and SMS wait their turn.
